Oh SBTRKT, how we missed you since the album came out.

Reagan // Killer Mike

Never thought I’d be tagging something as ‘political rap’

(Source: Spotify)

I can’t help but think that the video is what makes the song, especially when it comes to first impressions. This was the case with Lana Del Rey’s ‘Video Games’ and again for anything by The Neighbourhood (sorry, I promise I’ll stop talking about them soon), and although this video may seem like a “how many pre-2000 indie pictures can we fit into 4 minutes” cop out, it too drew me into liking the song in haze of pop culture perfection.

Un-surprisingly they like to describe themselves as “Tumblr Glitch Pop, Soul Fuzz, Electroshock”, but hey at least something successful came out of Tumblr (me included - one day).

So, if enjoyed, download the song by signing up for their emails here

The Neighbourhood // Leaving Tonight

Taken from their debut EP ‘I’m Sorry’ which is free to download here

Thursday, May 3, 2012

With both of their previous (and only) releases hitting it big and gaining the band a huge amount of support, the excitement of a new song could have been crushingly  horrible, but oh no, we (meaning I - obviously) were not at all disappointed. In anticipation of their debut EP titled ‘I’m Sorry’, released May 7th (which is apparently free ?!) it seems the band are eager to keep us waiting on the edge of our seats.

All three songs have been featured as Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record’ on Radio1, and too right too !

Not really what I ususally go for, but this song was free on It’s All Indie and I’m totally enjoying it.

iheartmoosiq:

Brit indie rockers Yuck’s new track Chew is super mega 90’s sounding. I love the guitars on this, and it’s a nice changeup from the futuristic electronic sound of Squarepusher in the previous post.

It’s good, but kinda sounds like there’s 2 songs going on at once..

Like when you’re loading something on Youtube and it starts to play randomly as you’re listening to something else.

Sorry to ramble.

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t been on in an age - haven’t had Internet (practically living in povo n shit.. joking obviously).

But anyway so I got my Internet back the other day and the first thing I did, and had been waiting to do for so long, was download the Vadoinmessico album. A few weeks/months ago I posted their cover of ‘Xtatic Truth’ by Crystal Fighters, which was incredible and maybe even almost better than the original (but probably not).

Their album ‘Archaeology of the Future’ is amazing. So good, a ‘breath of fresh air’ to be cliched and cringey, but it really is and I recommend that you all go download it.

This song, ‘Cave’, is my favourite from the 13 track selection.
